THE GLIESE Private Enquiries

Terms & Conditions

The terms on which the Maison designs, produces and hosts every event.

Last updated 22 October 2026

About these terms

THE GLIESE is a trade name of The Gliese - FZCO, a company registered in the IFZA free zone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, United Arab Emirates. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the Maison” mean The Gliese - FZCO, and “you” means the client booking an event or the guest buying a seat or ticket.

These terms apply to every event, service and ticket we provide. If your signed proposal or agreement says something different, the signed document applies for that point.

Enquiries and proposals

An enquiry, a request or a conversation is not a booking. After an enquiry we may prepare a proposal with a concept, a scope and a price. Unless it says otherwise, a proposal is valid for 14 days, and dates are held only once a booking is confirmed.

All prices are in UAE dirhams (AED). As a VAT-registered company we add VAT at the applicable UAE rate unless the price is shown as including VAT.

Booking and payment

Your event is confirmed only when you have accepted the proposal in writing and we have received the deposit. Unless your proposal says otherwise:

  • a deposit of 50% of the total confirms the booking and reserves our team, date and suppliers;
  • the balance is due no later than 7 days before the event;
  • additions agreed during the event, such as extra hours, are invoiced afterwards and are payable within 7 days.

Payments are made by bank transfer or through secure payment links issued by us. If the balance is not received on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you under section 8.

Last-minute events

Events requested less than 14 days before the date are accepted only at our discretion and subject to the availability of our team, venues, flowers and suppliers. A last-minute event may carry a surcharge, which will be shown in the proposal, and requires full payment on confirmation.

We will always tell you honestly what can be achieved in the time available. Where a concept cannot be produced to the Maison’s standard in time, we will propose an alternative rather than compromise.

Fresh flowers only

The Gliese works only with fresh flowers. We never use artificial flowers in our décor or installations, and we do not accept requests for them.

Fresh flowers are natural and seasonal, so exact varieties, colours, sizes and opening stages may vary from images, samples and mood boards. When a flower is unavailable or below our standard, we will replace it with one of equal or higher value and the same spirit of the design.

Our concepts and designs

Every concept is created privately for one client and is never repeated. Proposals, concepts, mood boards, sketches, names and designs remain the intellectual property of The Gliese. They are shared with you for your event only and may not be copied, passed to another planner or supplier, or produced without our written consent.

Images in proposals illustrate a mood and direction; the finished event is designed for your venue and may differ in detail.

Changes and guest numbers

Changes to the scope, design, timing or venue must be agreed in writing and may change the price. Final guest numbers are due 7 days before the event. Numbers may increase after that only if the venue and our suppliers can accommodate them; they cannot be reduced for a refund.

Cancellation and postponement

If you cancel, the following applies to the total event price:

  • the deposit is non-refundable at any time, as it secures our team, date and suppliers;
  • within 14 days of the event, 100% of the total is payable;
  • costs already committed to third parties, such as venue fees or custom-made items, are payable in all cases.

You may ask to postpone once, at least 30 days before the event. A new date is subject to our availability and that of the venue and suppliers, and any price difference is payable. Cancellations and postponements must be sent to us in writing.

If we have to cancel for reasons within our control, we will refund all payments you have made to us.

Ticketed and invitation events

For events hosted by The Gliese and sold by ticket, seat or invitation:

  • All payments for our Halloween events, including L’Affaire des Poisons on 31 October 2026, are final and non-refundable, including in the case of a no-show, late arrival or refusal of entry under section 11.
  • A seat is confirmed only once it has been paid in full.
  • With our prior agreement, a paid seat may be transferred to another guest named at least 48 hours before the event.
  • Menus, programme, performers and the order of the evening may be adjusted without changing the spirit of the event.

If we cancel a ticketed event ourselves, we will offer a full refund or a seat at a future event of your choice.

Venues and suppliers

Events often take place in hotels, restaurants and private venues with their own rules on access, timings, sound, open flame, set-up and service. We follow those rules and may adapt a design to meet them. Where a venue or supplier fails to deliver for reasons outside our control, we will do everything reasonable to find an alternative of the same standard.

Guests and conduct

Alcohol is served only to guests of legal drinking age under UAE law and at the venue’s discretion. We and the venue may refuse entry to, or ask to leave, any guest who is under age, does not follow the dress code, or behaves in a way that is unsafe or disrespectful to others or to our team. Guests must follow UAE laws and the venue’s rules at all times.

Our décor and damage

Unless sold to you, all décor, props, candelabras, chandeliers, vases and installation materials remain the property of The Gliese and are collected after the event. You are responsible for loss of or damage to our items, and to the venue, caused by you or your guests, and we may charge the cost of repair or replacement.

Discretion and photography

Discretion is part of every Gliese event. We never share photographs of one client’s event with another client, and we never publish your name, your guests’ faces or private details without your consent.

We may photograph the décor and installations for our private records. Any public use is agreed with you first. Your personal details are used only to organise your event and are never sold or shared beyond the suppliers who need them.

Events beyond our control

Neither of us is responsible for failing to perform because of events beyond reasonable control, such as government restrictions, public health measures, extreme weather, security situations, power failure or the closure of a venue. In that case we will first offer a new date. If no date can be agreed, we will refund payments made to us, less costs already committed to third parties.

Liability

Our total liability to you for any event is limited to the amount you have paid us for that event. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for personal belongings brought to an event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UAE law.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force on the date of your booking applies to your event.
